Between 1997 and 2020, the energy intensity of housing in the Czech Republic decreased by almost a third. And this trend will not stop. Economical housing is currently becoming an increasingly important topic. About 40 percent of all energy in Europe is used by buildings. From 2020, therefore, it will be possible to build only buildings with almost zero energy consumption in Europe. The new rules already apply, for example, to public buildings, industrial and commercial premises and family houses. In practice, these will be buildings with low heat and electricity consumption or with higher use of energy from renewable sources.
